Thanks for the memories, BlogRush, it was good while it lasted.
I just received an email that BlogRush, creator of the blog link widget that you’ve probably seen in some blogs, mine included, have decided to shut down their service. They request that if you have their widget on any of your blogs, to remove it. I think their server have already disconnected anyway as I noticed that on the two blogs that I had it on, they are no longer showing up. I went ahead and removed the code anyway.
BlogRush was a free service and it was a neat way to find other blog posts that are related to your topic. I had discovered quite a few blogs from their widget and I had also gotten some traffic from their widgets. But I suppose that happens in business. Try it out if it works and if it doesn’t work for you, know when to pull out.
Good luck to the BlogRush team in their future endeavors. As one who availed of the free service, thank you.
what a shame. i’ve never tried blog rush but if they were able to provide some free traffic, they must have been ok. it’s sad when small businesses shut down.
i heard entrecard has problems too but then there are still no rumors yet of a shut down. some blogs are just pulling out i guess. just a rumor…
