I just upgraded this blog to WordPress version 2.3.2. It was a fairly simple process provided by my host provider, BlueHost. If you have BlueHost and you would like to upgrade your version of WordPress, all you have to do is go to the same place you went to when you added WordPress as your blogging platform.
When you are on the control panel, go on the Software/Services section and choose Fantastico. The next page it takes you to is where you choose various software and services you’d like to add to your website. On the right side will be a list of all the WordPress installations you have on your websites/domains and what version it is. Next to that list will be an upgrade option for each site. Just click on the upgrade, and it does it for you! In the process, it also saves a backup of your files. Isn’t that neat?
Well to tell you the truth, this is the only blog I’ve updated so far. I haven’t done the rest of my blogs because I am a scardy cat, and I am just not prepared to put in the time tweaking it if something goes wrong. I’m using this site to kind of test the waters of 2.3.2. One of the reasons I haven’t upgraded the other blogs/sites is because some templates themes (I really have to get with the program and start referring to them as themes as opposed to templates when I was with Blogger) are not compatible with this new version. So if you’ve tweaked a template and you are really in love with it, I suggest going slowly and do your research first. And most importantly, BACKUP EVERYTHING FIRST!
